Me shaking hands with Academy president Tom Sherak
They scrolled through slides of all the nominated films. I stood there until they showed this one and snapped the photo.
Great weekend for the Oscar-Nominated Shorts in theaters. Thanks to all who made it out to catch the films!
Philadelphia Weekly: “Luke Matheny … has a gangly, Goldblum-esque confidence that belies his awkward appearance.” Thanks! Kind of!
Hey, everybody. “God of Love” is screening this weekend in movie theaters in well more than 100 cities in the United States and Canada. Check the link for showtimes near you. You’ll get to see the other great films in my category, too.
Check out the new kick-ass trailer from editor Levi Abrino (with invaluable input from Bobby Webster, of course).
Synopsis: A lovestruck, lounge-singing darts champion finds his prayers are answered — literally — when he mysteriously receives a box of love-inducing darts.

Here I am in Park City, Utah, getting the big Oscar news. I am joined by the amazing staff of the Angelus Student Film Festival, as well as my buddy James Carmichael. And on Skype you might be able to make out my composer Sasha Gordon, my editor Levi Abrino and — all the way from London — my DP Bobby Webster.
This was taken during the press-photo shoot of the Student Academy Awards. They told each of the finalists to go up on stage and do something with the big Oscar statue. Apparently, my instinct was to pretend to be Oscar’s co-dependent boyfriend.
